“Youth Summit” organized by World Academy for Local Government and Democracy (WALD) has been held with the opening speeches of Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Mr. Volkan Bozkır and the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kadir Topbaş on 20 May 2015.

Following the opening speeches of Mr. Topbaş, in his opening speech, Mr. Bozkır underlined the importance of an active and participatory civil society in the EU accession process.  After the opening speeches the programme continued with the “Youth Participation in the Democratic Processes Panel”.  

“Collaboration for Participation of Youth” Project is funded under the Civil Society Dialogue between the EU and Türkiye III Programme implemented by the Ministry for EU Affairs with the aim of promoting cooperation among civil societies in Türkiye and EU member states. The project has a budget of approximately 150.000 Euro and implemented by WALD in cooperation with Bağcılar and Zeytinburnu Municipalities and İntercultural Communication and Leadership School.
