Türkiye-EU Association Council Convened in Brussels for its 53rd Meeting
The 53rd meeting of the Türkiye-EU Association Council, established through the Ankara Agreement signed between Türkiye and European Economic Community in 1963, was held on 18 May 2015 in Brussels.
The Parties were represented by Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs as the President of the Council and Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
The Parties discussed the current state of the accession negotiations as well as various issues related to the Association Agreement and Customs Union.
