Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır attended Ceremonies to mark the Centenary of the Çanakkale Land and Sea Battles

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır attended the activities and ceremonies to mark the centenary of the Çanakkale Land and Sea Battles on 23, 24 and 25 April in İstanbul and Çanakkale.  

Minister Bozkır attended High-Level Session of the Peace Summit held in Istanbul on 23 April 2015 at which HE Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu was among speakers, along with HE Prime Ministers of Australia and New Zealand and HE President of Iraq. Minister Bozkır attended HE President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s address at the Peace Summit. Minister Bozkır attended the world premiere of “The 57th Regiment Çanakkale Centenary Symphony” composed by Can Atilla. Minister Bozkır also attendeded the dinner hosted by HE President Erdoğan in honour of the guest heads of delegations on the occasion of the Peace Summit. 

Minister Bozkır attended the ceremony at the Çanakkale Mehmetçik Monument hosted by HE President Erdoğan with the participation of HRH Prince Charles of Wales of the United Kingdom on 24 April 2015.

Minister Bozkır attended the ceremony at the British Helles Memorial Monument hosted by HRH Prince Charles of Wales of the United Kingdom with the participation of HE President Erdoğan.

Minister Bozkır attended the ceremony at the Çanakkale French Monument on behalf of Türkiye and laid a wreath on the Monument on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye.

Minister Bozkır attended the Anzac Dawn Service on behalf of Türkiye on 25 April 2015 at 05:00am at the Anzac Cove with the participation of HRH Prince Charles of Wales of the United Kingdom, HE Michael Higgins, President of Ireland, HE Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia and HE John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand. Minister Bozkır laid a wreath on the Anzac Monument on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye.

Following the Dawn Service Minister Bozkır attended the breakfast hosted by Australia and New Zealand on behalf of Türkiye. Minister Bozkır signed the Anzac Book of Honour.

Minister Bozkır attended the ceremony at the Çanakkale Australian Monument on behalf of Türkiye. The ceremony was hosted by HE Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia. Minister Bozkır laid a wreath on the Monument on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye.

Minister Bozkır attended the ceremony at our 57th Regiment Martyrs Monument as the representative of the Turkish Government.  HRH Prince Charles of Wales of the United Kingdom, HE Michael Higgins, President of Ireland, HE Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia, HE John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand and many high level foreign guests attended the ceremony. Minister Bozkır laid a wreath on the  57th Regiment Monument on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye. Minister Bozkır and HRH Prince Charles of Wales visited the graves of Turkish martyrs and laid carnations.

Minister Bozkır attended the ceremony at the New Zealand Monument at Conkbayırı on behalf of Türkiye. The ceremony was hosted by HE Johny Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand. Minister Bozkır laid a wreath on the Monument on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye.
