Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır Visited Brussels

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır paid an official visit to Brussels, Belgium on 20-21 March 2015.

During his visit, Minister Bozkır met with Frans Timmermans, European Commission’s First Vice-President for Better Regulation, Inter-Institutional Relations, the Rule of Law and Charter of Fundamental Rights.

Minister Bozkır also met with Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations; and Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice President of the European Commission for Euro and Social Dialogue and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia.

Minister Bozkır met with Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries; and Miguel Arias Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy as well.

Within the scope of his visit, Minister Bozkır participated at the high-level gathering of Belgian King Philippe at the 2015 Brussels Forum held by the German Marshall Fund (GMF).

Within the scope of 2015 Brussels Forum, Minister Bozkır made speeches in the sessions both on “Countering the New Wave of Terrorism at Home and Abroad” and “Türkiye – Bridge or Barrier?”

During his visit, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır exchanged views on Türkiye-EU relations with the members of the EU Commission with a focus on Türkiye's EU accession process.
