76th Meeting of the Türkiye-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee is being held in Ankara

76^th Meeting of the Türkiye-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee co-chaired by Afif Demirkıran and Manolis Kefalogiannis convened. Opening speech was made by Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Cemil Çiçek and Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır.  

In the first session, Undersecretary of the Ministry for European Union Affairs Ambassador Rauf Engin Soysal, on behalf of the Presidency of the Council of the EU, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia Atis Sjanīts and Director for Strategy and Türkiye, Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Simon Mordue expressed their views on “Türkiye-EU Relations and State of Play In the Accession Negotiations”.

The agenda of the meeting is as follows; “Fight against racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and All Other Forms of Discrimination”, “Freedom of Media” and “Combatting Terrorism”.

The last session of the meeting will be on 20 March 2015 about “Türkiye-EU Customs Union, Free Trade Agreements and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)” and “Türkiye-EU Foreign Policy Cooperation”.
