The Meeting of 81 Deputy Governors-Türkiye's New EU Strategy and EU Activities at Local Level was Held in Ankara

"The Meeting of 81 Deputy Governors-Türkiye's New EU Strategy and EU Activities at Local Level" was held on 24 December 2014, in Ankara with the participation of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır.

“Türkiye’s New EU Strategy” was announced to the public on the 18 September 2014 by Minister Bozkır and “EU Communication Strategy” was prepared in accordance with this strategy. In accordance with these two strategies, for activities to be carried out at the local level in the new period “The Action Plan for Strengthening the Capacity for EU Related Activities at the Local Level” was prepared as a road map. 

The Action Plan will pave the way for a more effective performance of work activities at the local level envisaged in Türkiye's New European Union Strategy and the new CommunicationStrategy, and for institutional capacity building required in this framework.

In the conference sessions, the strategies, action plan and “EU Actions in Local Level” in the next term within this context were discussed with Deputy Governors of 81 provinces  acting as “Contact Points for EU-related activities”.
