Announcement Regarding Prime Ministry Circular
Following the announcement of "Türkiye's European Union Strategy" by Volkan Bozkır, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, as the first step for the concrete commitment to Türkiye’s EU accession process declared in the Programme of the 62nd Government, the Circular on "Coordination of the Work related to the European Union" has been signed by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and published in the Official Gazette.
It is emphasized in the Circular that Türkiye's EU Accession is a strategic goal and future work will be carried out in line with "Türkiye's European Union Strategy" prepared by the Ministry for EU Affairs.
It is also indicated in the Circular that opinion of the Ministry for EU Affairs should be obtained with respect to the legislation drafted for alignment with the EU acquis, particularly to the arrangements and measures laid down in "The National Action Plan for EU Accession" to be prepared under the coordination of the Ministry for EU Affairs in line with the Strategy.
Furthermore, throughout Türkiye's EU accession process, communication with all segments of the society and consultation with local administrations, professional associations, civil society organisations, development agencies and the universities is recommended.
