European Cooperation Day Activities were conducted in Edirne

A celebration event was conducted in Edirne for the European Cooperation Day which is celebrated for the third time on 21^st of September by the coordination of the European Commission and supported by the Committee of the Regions and the European Parliament to highlight the achievements of the cooperation between European countries.

As the events were organized by the cooperation of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Bulgaria-Türkiye IPA Cross-border Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Bulgaria (Managing Authority) and Ministry for EU Affairs, Republic of Türkiye (National Authority) under the motto “Together again in the new programming period”, the main participants were the Programme beneficiaries, local authority representatives, students, journalists and citizens from the cross-border region.

Within the celebration activities a bike-tour and a water regatta were organized and the participants helped to clean the polluted water and land areas around the Maritsa River. After the event, students who took the most active part in the activities described above were awarded by the official guests from Türkiye and Bulgaria in a ceremony organized at the Ekmekçizade Ahmetpaşa Kervansaray Culture Center and the celebrations were closed with an entertainment event for all the participants.
