Türkiye-EU Association Council has convened in Luxembourg
The 52nd meeting of the Türkiye-EU Association Council, established through the Ankara Agreement signed between Türkiye and European Economic Community in 1963, was held on June 23, 2014 in Luxembourg. Association Council which convenes at ministerial level is the main decision making body between Türkiye and the EU.
The meeting was chaired by Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu with the participation of Evangelos Venizelos, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece which currently holds the EU Presidency and Stefan Füle, European Commissioner responsible for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy.
Parties exchanged views on the current stage of the accession negotiations in particular in the light of the Accession Partnership and of the Commission's 2013 Progress Report as well as various issues related to the state of relations under the Association Agreement and the Customs Union.
