Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu’s Visit to Latvia
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and his accompanying delegation paid an official visit to Latvia. On May 21, 2014 Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Deputy President of Latvian Parliament Inese Lībiņa-Egnere and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission jārs Ēriks Kalniņš. In the meeting, bilateral relations among two countries and Türkiye’s EU process were discussed.
Minister Çavuşoğlu also visited Cesis Turkish Cemetery on the first day of his Latvia visit. Türkiye’s Ambassador to Riga Şerife Serap Özcoşkun informed Minister Çavuşoğlu about Turkish Cemetery.
On the second day of his Latvia visit, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma.
Within the framework of his Latvia visit, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Minister for Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs. After the meeting, a joint press conference was held.
