Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu Accompanies President Traian Basescu of Romania During His Visit to Türkiye

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Traian Basescu of Romania during his visit to Türkiye on February 05-06, 2014.

On February 05, Minister Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Basescu during the ceremony at the mausoleum to Türkiye’s founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

After the ceremony at the mausoleum President Abdullah Gül welcomed President Traian Basescu with an official ceremony at the Çankaya Presidential Palace. After the official welcoming ceremony, the two leaders had a tete-a-tete and chaired the talks between their delegations. The delegations are discussing the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as the regional and international developments that concern both Türkiye and Romania.

After joint press conference of the two leadersTürkiye's Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek received Romanian President Traian Basescu and his accompanying delegation at the Turkish Parliament in Ankara. Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Cavusoglu also took part in the meeting. The meeting was followed by a lunch given to Basescu and his delegation in his honor.

Then, President Basescu hold a meeting closed to press with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Cavusoglu also took part in the meeting.

After the meeting, President Gül hosted a dinner in honor of the visiting President at the Çankaya Presidential Palace.

At the second day of his visit, President Basescu attended the inauguration of the Türkiye-Romania Economy and Investment Forum. Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Cavusoglu gave a speech at the Forum.
