Raising Awareness on the Procedures of the Individual Application in the Area of Human Rights Project

The Project on Raising Awareness on the Procedures of the Individual Application in the Area of Human Rights implemented by the Ministry for European Union Affairs in cooperation with the Constitutional Court, Ombudsman Institution, Human Rights Institution of Türkiye and Ministry of Justice, with the support of the British Embassy, has been launched with the aim of using the newly introduced individual application mechanisms in the field of human rights effectively by all citizens.

 

Hosted by the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr Egemen Bağış, the kick-off meeting of the Project was held in Ankara with the participation of the President of the Constitutional Court Mr Haşim Kılıç, Minister of Justice Mr Sadullah Ergin, Chief Ombudsman Mr M. Nihat Ömeroğlu, President of the Human Rights Institution of Türkiye Dr Hikmet Tülen and Deputy Head of Mission of British Embassy Ms Janet Douglas.

 

Bağış stated that significant progress has been made since the adoption of Constitutional Amendment Package of 2010 in the field of institutionalisation of human rights.

 

With the training program provided within the scope of the Project, the awareness of citizens from all walks of life on the individual application procedures will be raised, Bağış said.
