Egemen Bağış’s Official Visit to the United States of America

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış and his accompanying delegation paid three-day official visit to Washington, USA. 

On the first day of his official visit to USA, Minister Egemen Bağış met with the EU countries Ambassadors in USA and EU Ambassador to the U.S. João Vale de Almeida. After the meetings, Egemen Bağış made a speech in the panel named "Türkiye and the Future of the Transatlantic Alliance" organized by the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA) and German Marshall Fund. In his speech, Egemen Bağış stated that with the adhesion of Türkiye, EU will not only be a continental project but a universal peace project.

After the conference, Egemen Bağış met with the Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Miriam Sapiro. After meeting, Minister Bağış attended the dinner hosted by Turkish Ambassador Namik Tan.

On the second day of his official visit to USA, Egemen Bağış met the Deputy National Security Advisor Michael Froman in the White House. Afterwards, Minister Bağış visited the Turkish American Society.

After the visit, Minister Bağış met with the United States Congres Members in a lunch.    

On the last day of his official visit, Egemen Bağış delivered the opening speech at the Assembly of Turkish American Associations Leadership Conference. On his speech, Egemen Bağış evaluated the reform process in Türkiye and affirmed that he was considering the Ministry for EU Affairs as Türkiye’s reform kitchen.

After the conference, Egemen Bağış visited Rumi Forum and Turkish Coalition of America.

At the lunch, Egemen Bağış made a speech at the Assembly of Turkish American Associations Ambassadors Session.

In the afternoon, Egemen Bağış met with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank. After the meeting, Minister Bağış participated to the Assembly of Turkish American Associations Leadership Conference Reception.
