IPA II Conference hosted by European Commission was held in Brussels

A Conference aiming at information exchange on the IPA II, the second period of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) covering the years 2014-20, with the participation of candidate /potential candidate countries and international financing institutions was held on 25 January 2013 in Brussels.

Prior to the conference, the basic principles of the new period had been discussed with the relevant institutions based on the information gathered from the draft EC documents and informal discussions for the last two years.
Türkiye was represented at the conference by a delegation headed by Deputy Undersecretary Mr. Ahmet YÜCEL and consisting of officials from Ministry for EU Affairs, Undersecretariat of Treasury, Ministry of Development, Central Finance and Contracts Unit, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institute.
Mr. YÜCEL has also made a presentation in the conference on Türkiye's experience gained during the first period and expectations from the IPA II term.
The utilization of the EU financial aid will be governed by the "IPA II Regulation", "IPA Rules of Application" and other documents by which the priorities and programming process will be determined.
The recently started exercise on determining Türkiye's priorities for "Country Strategy Paper" will continue with the participation of all relevant institutions following the conference.
