The TAIEX Seminar on Anti-Discrimination and Equality Board

The TAIEX Seminar on Anti-Discrimination and Equality Board, organised through the cooperation of the Ministry for EU Affairs and European Commission TAIEX Unit is held in Plaza Hotel, between 13^rd - 14^th November 2012.

The seminar is organised with the aim of sharing the latest developments regarding the field of antidiscrimination with regard to’ Chapter 23 "Judiciary and Fundamental Rights" and Chapter 19 ‘Social Policy and Employment thus increasing the current awareness among all participants ranging from NGO representatives, experts, academics and related public institutions. The opening speech of the conference is delivered by the Deputy Minister Dr. Alaattin Büyükkaya.

“Deputy Minister Dr. Alaattin Büyükkaya pointed out that through reforms realised in the EU accession process, today’s Türkiye is a more free, democratic, stable, prosperous and respected cpuntry. He also stressed that Türkiye is going through a significant period of mentality transformation. Deputy Minister mentioned that the issue about Anti-discrimination and Equality Board is becoming a priority in terms of institutionalisation in the field of human rights and he said that the current and future work in this field shall considerably contribute to improve the standards of democracy and human rights in our country.”
