Egemen Bağış Pays an Official Visit to Italy

Minister for EU affairs anc Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış and his accompanying delegation made an official visit to Italy. In the first day of his visit, Egemen Bağış delivered a speech at the conference themed ''Türkiye as an Emerging Regional Power: Challenges and Opportunities” held by ISPI (Institution for International Policy Studies) in Milan.

After the conference, Egemen Bağış met with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy Marta Dassu. In his first evening of the Italy visit, Egemen Bağış attended the opening ceremony of “Türkiye: Missing Star” film festival and made a speech.

After his programme in Milan, Egemen Bağış continued his official contacts in Rome on October 17, 2012. Egemen Bağış began his second day programmw with meeting with President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini. Türkiye's EU membership and contemporary issues in Turkish ad Italian politics were discussed in the meeting.

Within the framework of his contacts, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış met with Minister for International Cooperation and Integration Policies of Italy Andrea Riccardi.

On the third day of his Italy visit, Egemen Bağış delivered a speech themed The EU and Türkiye: Confronting the Mediterranean Challenge Together” at the Institute for International Relations (Istituto Affari Internazionale-IAI).

After the conference, Minister Bağış participated in the coctail party of the 2nd Turkish Film Festival of Rome. After attending the opening ceremony of the festival, Minister Bağış and accompanying delegation have left Rome.
