A High Level Meeting on the future setting of the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance was held on 24 September 2012
A consultation meeting on the procedures and principles of the second phase of the Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA – II) was held on 24 September 2011 at the Ministry for EU Affairs with the participation of the undersecretaries of the institutions having role in the EU-Türkiye Financial Cooperation mechanism.
A consultation process has already been carried out by the European Commission on the said issue for more than a year. The IPA II Draft Regulation Proposal has already been released and submitted for consideration in December 2011 within the framework of the said consultation process.
Subsequently, a position paper which has been prepared in accordance with the comments and recommendations of the relevant institutions with regard to the draft regulation was conveyed to the EU Commissioner for Enlargement Mr. Stefan Füle by Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Egemen Bağış on 8 February 2012.
In today's meeting, within the limits of the information and the data available a comprehensive evaluation has been made as to the possible setting of the IPA II.
