Egemen Bağış’s Visit to Portugal
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış made an official visit to Portugal’s capital Lisbon between September 19-21, 2012. On the first of his visit, Minister Bağış made a speech themed “Türkiye-EU Relations: Time for a New Agenda” at the Catholic University of Portugal.
President Cavaco Silva hosted Minister Egemen Bağış on the second day of his visit.
After hsi meeting with the President Of Portugal, Egemen Bağış met with Paulo Cortas, The Minister of State and Minister for Foreign Affairs. In the meeting, Türkiye’s EU accession negotiations and issues about Syria and Middle East were discussed. After the meeting, ministers held a joint pres conference.
After his meeting with Minister Paulo Cortas, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış was received by Prime Minister Passos Coelho. In the evening Minister Bağış attended the opening ceremony of the event themed “Türkiye: Missing Star”.
