Pre-Departure Seminars Were Organized For 2012-2013 Academic Year Scholars
Pre-departure seminars were organized for the 2012-2013 academic year scholars of the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme, which aims to support Türkiye’s administrative capacity building efforts for the effective implementation of the EU acquis.
After the first pre-departure seminar organized in Ankara with the opening speech of Dr. Mehmet Cangir, The Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry for EU Affairs, a second one was organized in Istanbul. At the seminars, 100 scholarship holders were informed about their responsibilities in the framework of the JMSP and Türkiye-EU relations. Besides, the scholars found the opportunity of listening to the experiences and recommendations of the Jean Monnet alumni.
The seminars were held with the participation of speakers from the Ministry for EU Affairs and Central Finance and Contracts Unit (CFCU). The scholars were informed about their responsibilities regarding the scholarship, ‘negotiation process’ and ‘the current situation in Türkiye-EU relations’ by the Ministry for EU Affairs while CFCU updated the scholars about the contracting process.
Five old JM scholars shared their past experiences and memories in the EU countries with 2012-2013 scholars.
