Positive Agenda Kick-Off Meeting was held
Minister for European Union Affairs Egemen Bağış and European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle have officially launched the Positive Agenda at the kick-off meeting held in the Ministry for European Union Affairs on May 17, 2012.
Positive Agenda is set out as a new method to overcome the deadlock in Türkiye’s EU accession process. Positive Agenda is not an alternative to the accession negotiations. Rather it will support and complement Türkiye’s accession process through areas of potential cooperation such as visa, political reforms, energy, fight against terrorism and working groups on relevant chapters.
Working groups are established on 8 chapters with the objective of fulfilling technical opening and closing benchmarks and to open and close as many chapters as possible within the shortest period of time once the political blockages are removed.
