Egemen Bağış’s Official Visit to Malta
Within the concept of his official visit, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış met with Tonio Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Malta
Türkiye-Malta relations, Türkiye’s EU accession process, visa issue and regional developments were discussed in the meeting held on April 12, 2012.
It is the first official visit of Minister Bağış to Malta since the opening of the Turkish Embassy in Malta in 2009. Egemen Bağış also thanked Malta for giving support to Türkiye’s EU accession process.
Minister Bağış met with the members of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs of Malta Parliament.
After his diplomatic contacts, Egemen Bağış gave a lecture themed “Creating a Common Future: Need for a Visionary Europe” at University of Malta.
On his second day of the visit, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış met with Prime Minister of Malta Lawrence Gonzi. After te meeting, Minister Bağış visited Johs's Co Cathedral, Museum of Archaeology and Turkish Cemetery.
