Ankara Preparing for the EU Project Protocol Ceremony is Realized

First agreements are signed for “Ankara Preparing for the EU Project” developed by the Ministry for EU Affairs, Ankara Governorship and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. The protocol ceremony is held on the 27th of March 2012, in Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Central Congress Hall with the participation of Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış, Governor of Ankara Mr. Alaaddin Yüksel and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek.

At the meeting, after the inauguration speeches, the protocol ceremony is held and a cocktail is organized. At his speech Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış stated that, this protocol is not a frame but just a start for the cooperation between Ankara Governorship and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

Within the project planned for 12 months, project preparing training and 11 thematic EU seminars will be organized for the members of Ankara Governorship, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Major, District Governorships, local administrations and EU Provincial Advisory and Steering Committee (EU PASC). Apart from these, some other activities are planned as; a cooperation for the European Day Activities which is going to be held in Ankara on the 9th of May, some visits to the successful ongoing projects, and accomplished ones in Ankara, a competition with prize, a project exhibition and the publications of editions such as “EU Project Supported in Ankara Province” and “Basic EU Terms”.
