The Fourth and the Seventh Consultation Meetings of “Support for Regional Projects Component”

The fourth consultation meeting of “Support for Regional Projects Component” within the framework of the Provinces Preparing for the EU Programme was held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the Ministry for EU Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Dr. Mehmet Cangir on 26 March 2012 with the participation of Hatay Provincial EU Permanent Contact Point and Hatay, Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş EU Units staff.

Following Mr. Mehmet Cangir’s opening speech Director of Project Implementation Bülent Özcan informed the participants about the “Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Policy” project.

The projects within the “Support for the Regional Projects Component” will be implemented by second half of 2012.

At the afternoon session, the seventh consultation meeting of “Support for Regional Projects Component” within the framework of the Provinces Preparing for the EU Programme was held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the Ministry for EU Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Dr. Mehmet Cangir on 26 March 2012 with the participating representatives of Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Diyarbakır, Batman, Siirt and Şırnak Governorates, Ministries of Interior and Culture and Tourism and related Directorates of Ministry for EU Affairs.

Following Mr. Mehmet Cangir’s opening speech Director of Project Implementation Mr. Bülent Özcan informed the participants about the “Protection and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage” project.

In addition, emphasising the importance of the project, Director of Social, Regional and Innovative Policies Deren Doğan Yavuz stated that the support needed from the Directorate of Social, Regional and Innovative Policies in order to adjust the activities of the project according to the EU Policies would be given.
