Turkish Local Media on the EU Path Study Visit
Within the framework of the project titled “Turkish Local Media on the EU Path”, which is conducted by the Ministry for EU Affairs under the auspices of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış and also supported by the British Embassy in Ankara, the study visit to Brussels and London was realized between March 5-8, 2012.
Following the ten regional informative seminars held in İstanbul, İzmir, Ankara, Ordu, Sivas, Muğla, Erzurum, Şanlıurfa, Elazığ and Mersin, ten local media members were drawn by lots to make study visit to Brussels and London. Through this activity, media members had the opportunity to visit the EU institutions, to come together with their colleagues and to share their experiences.
In this context, local media members visited the European Commission Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Unit, European Journalism Centre, Brussels Press Club and European Parliament. Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış came together with media members at the Permanent Delegation of Türkiye to the European Union and answered the questions of media members after evaluating the current Türkiye-EU relations.
Local media members who arrived in London after completing their contacts in Brussels, visited Foreign and Commonwealth Office, BBC Turkish Service, Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Association of Turkish-British Journalists.
