Best Practices in EU Fishery Marketing Standards Workshop

“Best Practices in EU Fishery Marketing Standards Workshop” within the scope of Sarıyer Municipality’s “Local Steps Towards the Implementation of the EU Fishery Marketing Standards Project”, funded under Civil Society Dialogue II – Agriculture and Fisheries Grant Scheme, was held in İstanbul on February 23, 2012 with the participation of Deputy Minister of Ministry for EU Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Nuri Yaşar and Major of Sarıyer Municipality Şükrü Genç.

Following the speech of Mayor of Sarıyer Municipality Şükrü Genç, Prof. Dr. Hasan Nuri Yaşar, Deputy Minister of Ministry for EU Affairs has taken the floor and emphasized the importance of achieving high qualified standards in production and marketing processes for more competitive fisheries sector.

After the protocol speeches, Deputy Mayor of Sarıyer Municipality Seçkin Özdemir has explained briefly the project purposes and benefits obtained from the project for the fisheries sector. At the workshop, Arianna Broggiato, Expert from the European Bureau for Conservation and Development, made a presentation on the EU Fisheries Policy.

Best Practices in EU Fishery Marketing Standards Workshop is ended up with the presentations of Spanish and Italian representatives about “History of Implementation of EU Fishery Marketing Standards”.
