Guide for the Governorates to the EU Activities Planning in 2012

Wide variety of works have been in practice by the Ministry for the EU Affairs in order to create a better awareness of the negotiation process and eliminate misjudgments on the EU from the initial point of which the process itself concerns the local authorities as well as it does the central government, particularly when considered the implementation. In this respect, for correct information of the public on the EU related matters, to fully implement the legal and the administrative reforms of the negotiation process and enable the provinces benefit from the EU funds on a larger scale; the “Improving the Effectiveness of Governorates in the EU Accession Process Project” have been initiated in collaboration of the Ministry for the EU Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior in early 2010. In the scope of the Project, many successful activities were realized in cooperation with the governorates.

At the current phase of the Project, it was considered beneficial developing a guiding document for the provincial EU permanent contact points (deputy governors) and the EU units of the governorates in order to help plan efficient EU activities in 2012.

Having been prepared in this regard the “Guide for the Governorates to the EU Activities Planning in 2012” was introduced at “The Governors Meeting by the Minister for the EU Affairs and the Chief Negotiator Egemen BAĞIŞ on 9 February 2012.
