The TAIEX Seminar on Cycle on Human Rights Institutions

The TAIEX Seminar on "Cycle on Human Rights Institutions: Turkish Independent Human Rights Institution in line with the Paris Principles", organised in cooperation between the Ministry for EU Affairs and European Commission TAIEX Unit is being held in Ankara Plaza Hotel, between 19th - 20th December 2011.

The TAIEX seminar organised in the field of human rights institutions which falls under the Chapter 23 "Judiciary and Fundamental Rights", aims at increasing the awareness in the field of human rights institutions and aims at bringing together various experts, academicians, representatives of civil society organizations and public institutions who are specialized on this subject. The opening speech of the conference was delivered by the Ministry for EU Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Dr. F.H. Burak Erdenir.

Mr. Erdenir, in his speech indicated that Türkiye has undertaken many reforms both at the national and international level in respect to the protection and enhancement of human rights. Under this framework, Mr. Erdenir especially emphasized that there are many important works and studies going on in Türkiye in the recent period in order to establish national human rights institutions.

Mr. Erdenir also underlined the importance of the institutionalization in the field of human rights both in terms of the EU membership process and the democratization process of Türkiye.
