Young Translators Contest 2011
THE MINISTRY FOR EUROPEAN UNION AFFAIRS
THE SECOND YOUNG TRANSLATORS CONTEST (2011)
The Ministry for European Affairs will hold a second "Young Translators Contest" under the auspices of Egemen Bağıþ, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator. The aim of the Contest is to contribute not only to the motivation of the training of the translators needed in this field, but also to raising the awareness of students studying in the Translation and Interpretation Departments of Turkish Universities regarding Türkiye's EU accession process.
Students in their final year of study are eligible to participate in this Contest, which will be held on 17 December 2011 in Istanbul. The Contest will include the translation of a text from one of the three working languages of the European Union (English, French and German) into Turkish.
The winners of this Contest each will be awarded with a plaque and will have the chance to visit the translation units of the European Commission, European Council and the European Parliament in Brussels.
