2012 European Sports Capital Istanbul

Istanbul was awarded as the "2012 European Sports Capital" which has been given to a city every year since 2001.  H.E. Egemen Bağıþ, Minister for European Union Affairs and Mr. Kadir Topbaþ, Mayor of Istanbul, received the certificate declaring Istanbul "2012 European Sports Capital" at a ceremony held in the European Parliament on 30 November 2011 from 2011 European Sports Capital Valencia.
