The Fourth Meeting of the EU Advisory and Steering Committee Held in Diyarbakır

The fourth meeting of the Provincial EU Advisory and Steering Committee (EU PASC) of Diyarbakır Governorate within the project of "Improving the Effectiveness of the Governorates in the EU Accession Process" was held on 21st November 2011 in Governorship of Diyarbakır, Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı Culture and Art Center with the participation of the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Egemen BAÐIÞ and the Governor of Diyarbakır Mr. Mustafa TOPRAK.

The meeting started with the presentation of The Provincial EU Permanent Contact Point and Deputy Governor Mr. Mustafa CAN about EU activities in Diyarbakır and continued with the speech of Governor of Diyarbakır, Mr. TOPRAK about Türkiye-EU relations.

The Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Egemen BAÐIÞ mentioned in his speech that Türkiye had made a considerable progress in the human rights, democracy and individual freedoms during the Türkiye EU full-membership process. He also indicated that, half of the 11 million Euros Pre-accession aid in the EU's financial framework 2007-2013 is ascribed to Türkiye; and EU financed Projects, which support Türkiye's development, are carried out in each city of Türkiye, included Diyarbakır.
