The third meeting of the Financial Cooperation Coordination Board was held
The third meeting of the Financial Cooperation Coordination Board which was established with Circular of Prime Ministry no. 2009/18 was held on 15 November 2011 under the chairmanship of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator H.E. Egemen Bağıþ and with the participation of the high representatives of Ministries which are member of the Board. In the said meeting, five components of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) have been assessed and the funds allocated under five components of IPA, accreditation process of the Ministries responsible for the management of the Operational Programmes and strategic steps to be taken in order to increase the absorbtion capacity of the funds for the years of 2011 and 2012 have been discussed.
In his opening speech, Minister Egemen Bağıþ has mentioned that the EU funds have supported the reform efforts in the areas that will have a positive influence on the citizens such as political criteria and acquis alignment; to this end, the funds have been used for improving the capacity of the public institutions in the fields from justice, border security, transport to environment, customs and social security.
After exchange of information on the IPA projects having strategic importance under Türkiye-EU financial Cooperation Process, Minister Egemen Bağıþ declared that he believes that the cooperation and coordination among the civil society institutions and public institutions in the framework of Financial Cooperation will be sustained as it was before.
