The Third Meeting of the EU PASC of İstanbul Governorate was Held on 28th October 2011
The third meeting of the Provincial EU Advisory and Steering Committee (EU PASC) of İstanbul Governorate within the project of "Improving the Effectiveness of the Governorates in the EU Accession Process" was held on 28th October 2011 in İstanbul with the participation of the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Egemen BAÐIÞ and the Governor of İstanbul Mr. Hüseyin Avni Mutlu. The opening speech was made by the Governor of İstanbul Mr. Mutlu.
The Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Egemen BAÐIÞ indicated in his speech that: "The playground of world politics is now our region. Türkiye is now on a different track. Democracy is our softest power. The most important feature of Türkiye differentiating us from neighbor countries is democracy. EU has a vital role in the current level of democracy in Türkiye. Therefore, our goal is full membership. Therefore, we care about catching the EU standards. Once we reach the standards, we can than evaluate. However, now we need to spend our energy efficiently and we need to focus. Our focus will be to increase Türkiye's standards. "
At the meeting, a certificate ceremony of Training of Trainers on Project Cycle Management given under the "Awareness on EU is Contoured in İstanbul " project financed by the Ministry for EU Affairs within the framework of "Provinces Preparing for the European Union Programme" was conducted. Certificates of 30 participants of the training were given by the Minister Mr. BAÐIÞ.
