`Effective Instruments Supporting Territorial Development Conference`, Warsaw

`Effective Instruments Supporting Territorial Development Conference` was co-organized by the Committee of the Regions and the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 24-25 October 2011 in Warsaw. The main objective of the conference was to exchange views and opinions between practitioners dealing with the issues of cohesion policy (CP) in the context of the territorial dimension of CP and its development instruments in the area of programming and implementation. As the only representative of a candidate country, Director of Financial Cooperation Mr. M. Sureyya Suner made a speech in the Workshop titled `Role of the Instruments for Cross Border Development`. In his speech, Mr. Suner acquainted the participants with experiences of Türkiye gained through participating two cross border cooperation (CBC) programmes, namely, the ENPI Black Sea Basin CBC Programme and Bulgaria-Türkiye CBC Programme. The Turkish Delegation further outlined various proposals to be taken on board in the revision of CBC programmes in the post-2014 period.
