Ambassador Haluk Ilıcak Attended the 1st International Translation and Terminology Convention

Ambassador Haluk Ilıcak, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry for EU Affairs, participated in the 1st International Translation and Terminology Convention organized by the Kırıkkale University on October 20, 2011. In his opening speech, Ambassador Ilıcak expressed that Türkiye's EU bid is progressing with determination. Ambassador Ilıcak also mentioned translation studies of Ministry for EU Affairs in the EU accession process.

In his speech, Ambassador Haluk Ilıcak stated that when Türkiye becomes an EU member, Turkish would be one of the official languages of the EU which already has 23 official languages. Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry for EU Affairs Ambassador Haluk Ilıcak emphasized the important role of the young people in the translation of the acquis into Turkish.
