EU Advisory and Steering Committee Meeting is Held in Isparta

The third meeting of the Provincial EU Advisory and Steering Committee (EU PASC) of Isparta Governorate within the project of "Improving the Effectiveness of the Governorates in the EU Accession Process" was held on 9 September 2011 in the Göl Meeting Hall in Isparta.

The Governor of Isparta Mr. Memduh OGUZ, Deputy Undersecretary A. of Ministry for EU Affairs Dr. Mehmet CANGİR, the Provincial EU Permanent Contact Point Deputy Governor Niyazi CAN, all district governors, Suleyman Demirel University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr.İskender AKKURT, Secretary General of the Western Mediterranean Development Agency Tuncay ENGIN, EU Project Co-ordination Centre Co-ordinator David Yasin DOGAN, provincial representatives of the government institutions and agencies and the relevant non-governmental organizations participated to the meeting .

In his opening speech, the governor of Isparta Mr. Memduh OGUZ stated that Dr. Mehmet CANGİR's participation to the meeting was an indicator of the importance given by the Ministry for EU Affairs to the local administrations in the EU process.

At the meeting, Dr. Mehmet CANGİR made his presentation on "Türkiye's European Union Process and the EU Financial Aid" and he added that Ministry for EU Affairs has always expressed its support to the governorates within the scope of the project of "Improving the Effectiveness of the Governorates in the EU Accession Process"

Also at the meeting, "The Enhancement of Crawfish Production and Marketing in Türkiye" which was adopted within the scope of the Civil Society Dialogue-II Project and was submitted by Isparta Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other successful projects presented to the participants.
