"European Cultural Corridor: Chorlu-Sakar" Project Opening Meeting

 

The opening ceremony of the "European Cultural Corridor: Chorlu - Sakar" project conducted by the Association of Balkan Turks in the scope of the Türkiye-EU Civil Society Dialogue-II Project (CSD-II): Culture and Arts Grant Scheme was held in Çorlu Municipality  Þevket Esendal Theatre Hall on 29 July 2011. Director of the Directorate for Political Affairs of the Ministry for EU Affairs, Ege Erkoçak, Mayor of Çorlu, Ünal Baysan, some Çorlu City Council representatives and representatives from Bulgarian project partner have attended the opening ceremony.

Chitalishte "St. Kiril and Methodius" from Bulgaria and Association for Culture and Support of Tokatlilars take also part in the project as project partners. The main aim of the so-called project is to establish sustainable cultural networks between Turkish and Bulgarian civil societies.

With a total budged of 93.755,81 Euro and 12 months of implementation process, "European Cultural Corridor: Chorlu - Sakar" project foresees also the creation of a cultural platform named as "Culture without Borders Initiative" and organizations of Turkish Art Days in Topolovgrad and Bulgarian Art Days in Çorlu.
