The 20th anniversary of the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme was celebrated

The 20th anniversary of the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme was celebrated on 16th of May at Ankara Cer Modern. Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme, which is financed by the EU and implemented by the Secretariat General for European Union Affairs, aims to provide the required human resources specialized in the EU field within the framework of EU accession process of Türkiye.

Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, Ambassador Marc Pierini; Ambassador István SZABÓ on behalf of the Hungarian EU Presidency; Thomas Russel, the Irish Ambassador to Türkiye; PAO-Director of Central Finance and Contracts Unit, Muhsin Altun and representatives of embassies in Ankara attended the ceremony which was hosted by Egemen BAÐIÞ, the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator.

 

Acknowledgment plaques were given to the scholars celebrating their 19th and 20th anniversaries and Ministry of Justice, Middle East Technical University and Isbank as institutions motivating the highest number of scholars. In addition, the scholars of the 2010-2011 academic year were awarded their certificates. The ceremony ended after a cocktail attended by the government representatives, academia, senior representatives of the institutions working in the EU field, scholars and their families.
