EUSG Cooperates With Microsoft For EU Slogans

The project carried out in collaboration with the Secretariat General for EU Affairs and Microsoft Advertising, targets the users of "Windows Live Messenger" in Türkiye. As Türkiye is ranked as the 7th country spending most of its time on the internet, project aims to reach a total of 32 million internet users, 14 million computers and 7 million ADSL users.

Within the framework of the project, 28.4 million "Windows Live Messenger" users will be informed about slogans prepared by the Secretariat General for EU Affairs. The slogans will explain the concrete contributions of EU to our daily lives.

In order to launch the Project, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator H.E. Mr. Egemen Bağıþ made a video conference call to Türkiye's EU Permanent Representative in EUSG's Istanbul Office on May 5th 2011. In his speech prior to the video conference, Minister Bağıþ pointed out the importance of social media on communication among the young people. Moreover, Minister Bağıþ, underlined the importance of prioritising incentive platforms for two-way communication among young people by stating: "While progressing on the way to the EU on democratic, technological and economic terms, our common desire is to reach a better future for both EU and Türkiye with the help of this change."
