Turkish-German Relations in the 50. Year of Turkish Migration to Germany
Deputy Secretary General for EU Affairs Dr. F. H. Burak Erdenir gave a speech titled “Germany’s Role on Europe-Türkiye Relations” at the “Past, Present and Future of Turkish-German Relations in the 50. Year of Turkish Migration to Germany Conference” co-organised by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and International Strategic Research Organisation (USAK). In his speech, Dr. Erdenir ephasized historical role of Türkiye’s relations with Germany in Turkish modernization and Germany’s support to Türkiye in key moments of its EU accession process underlining Germany’s possible role to pass over the present situation of the negotiations, the fact that Germany will benefit mostly from a settlement in the visa problem by application of Soysal decision of European Court of Justice and Türkiye’s support to full integration bearing in mind the differentiation between integration and asimilation should be clear.
Academicians, beurocrats, politicians and civil society representatives will extensively discuss political, economic social, cultural and academic dimensions of Turkish-German relations in the Conference that will countinue for two days.
