The European Union Communication Volunteers Took Their First Training

EU Communication Volunteers received their certificates and ID cards from Mr. Egemen Bağıþ, the Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator, at a ceremony held in the EUSG Ortaköy Office on 10 April 2011, after completing their training.

Minister Egemen Bağıþ said that the young people lived abroad for a while have a say in the future of their country. "Whenever they ask me what are the obstacles in front of the EU membership I always give the same answer: prejudice. We hope to get rid of prejudices through Communication Volunteers" stated Minister Bağıþ.

Communication Volunteers took training on "EU's Organisational Structure and Legal Order", "EU and Türkiye: Civil Society Dialogue Projects", "Structure and Activities of the EUSG", "EU and Türkiye: Reform Process", "EU and Türkiye: Current Issues" and "EU and Communication" on 9-10 April 2011 in Istanbul.

Volunteers will inform schools and non-governmental organisations throughout Türkiye about the EU, the EU-Türkiye negotiation process and its concrete effects on our daily lives.
