Preparatory Meeting on Determining Türkiye-EU Financial Cooperation Priorities for 2014-2020

A preparatory meeting aimed at determining Türkiye's priorities concerning Türkiye-EU Financial Cooperation for EU's next budget period was held at the EUSG on 11 January 2011. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Secretary General Mr. Ahmet Yücel and participated by the public institutuions those are represented in the Financial Cooperation Board.

Within the margins of the said meeting the participants, having discussed the current problems already identified in relation with the IPA funds, made elaborations as to preserve Türkiye's national interests and apply influence on the decisions to be taken by the European Commission in relation with its preparations on new budget perspective for 2014-2020.

Besides, the participants committed themselves to formulate reasoned opinions and justifications, which they have accumulated in the light of the experiences and the problems so far. Those opinions are to be proposed to the European Commission in its further legislative amendment process. With this initiative the EUSG and all the related institutions adopted a pro-active strategic approach in order to assist the European Commission in its preparations for the new budget period and influence the outcome to a maximum possible extent.
