EUSG Met with the Students of London School of Economics, Grimshaw International Relations Club

The students of the London School of Economics, Grimshaw International Relations Club visited the Secreteriat General for the EU Affairs on Monday, January 3, 2011.

Mr. Faruk Kaymakcı, Diplomatic Advisor to Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator, briefed the students about Türkiye's accession process to the EU and the negotiation chapters and also answered their questions. The questions mainly focused on the Cyprus issue, reform process and Türkiye's expectations from the EU. The group was on an official visit to Ankara and Istanbul between 3-9 January.

Secretariat General for EU Affairs comes together with different target groups from the EU to improve the knowledge on Türkiye and its EU process among the EU public. Academic affairs and relations with students make up one of the various components of Türkiye's European Union Communication Strategy (EUSC).
