2nd Civil Society Dialogue Meeting Was Held

"Civil Society, Youth and Local Government on the Road to EU Membership" 2nd Civil Society Dialogue Meeting was held on June 18, 2009 in MEB Shura Lounge.

Secretariat General for European Union (EUGS)believes that consultation channels with civil society organizations should be kept open within the context of Türkiye's Europen Union Communication Strategy and for this purpose EUGS has met with civil society organizations 2 times in 2009.

Secretary General for EU Affairs Ambassador Oğuz Demiralp, Head of Türkiye Delegation of European Commision Ambassador Marc Pierini, Head of Equal Opportunities Commission of Grand National Assembly Güldal Akþit, Minister for National Education Nimet Çubukçu and Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağıþ gave opening talk in the meeting on 'Women and EU Process'.

With the attendance of approximately 500 members of female civil society foundations, on his meeting speech, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağıþ declared that dialog with civil society is vital on the road to European Union and he worked for this purpose since he was assigned to his ministry.
