Egemen Bağış: Türkiye is a Source of Stability and Equilibrium in the Region

Egemen Bağıþ, the Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator, received the delegation of Movement of the French Enterprises (MEDEF) on Wednesday, 22 September 2010. "You have come to the right place at the right time," said Mr. Bağıþ, calling upon the French business to invest in Türkiye. He also stressed the key role of Türkiye in the region as a source of stability and equilibrium.

"Our country has been taking determined steps both economically and democratically. For instance, the first quarter of this year our economic growth is 11.7 %. In the mean time, the constitutional amendment package, which would contribute to Türkiye's EU membership process, was supported by the majority."

Bağıþ underlined that economic growth and democratic consolidation as the two sides of the coin, as all the democratic countries have good and stable economy.

The minister completed his speech by stating that there are only 56 Turkish companies operating in France and urged the French businessmen to carry out further cooperation with their Turkish counterparts, so that both the number and the business volume of those companies would be increased.
