EU Opens Two More Chapters for Accession Negotiations
The fourth meeting of the Accession Conference with Türkiye at ministerial level was held in Brussels, in 19 December 2007. The Turkish delegation was led by Foreign Minister Ali Babacan, the head of the European Union delegation was Luís Amado, Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs and President of the Council of Ministers of the European Union and on behalf of the European Commission, Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn attended the conference.
In the Conference two more chapters was opened for negotiations with Türkiye, namely the chapters on "Chapter 21: Trans-European Networks" and "Chapter 28: Consumer and Health Protection". For "Trans-European Networks" one closing benchmarks and for "Consumer and Health Protection" five closing benchmarks were determined in technical issues.
